There is a new trend in marketing pornography to women and it is disturbing. Women marketing to women. In the past it has always been men in control, creating and marketing pornography but now with the popularity of 50 Shades of Grey and other books along those creators of pornography have found a way for mainstream women to consume.
Tim Challies wrote a great blog post about this disturbing trend. It is a read for anyone who is concerned with the pervasive sin of pornography.

I thinks it is important to nuance how the porn industry markets itself. The awful truth is that the industry doesn’t lead with marketing but often follows the demand. Challies frames the discussion such that we the innocent public should beware of the big bad porn industry. But there isn’t enough discussion about how demand drives supply. Our perverted hearts want this sh*t and the industry simply takes the opportunity to make a buck by providing the supply.

Hi SJ! Thanks for the great response. I do believe that there isn’t enough discussion as to why we demand this stuff BUT did you know that you needed an iPhone when it first came out? Many times we are marketed things we didn’t even know we wanted ie iPod, iPhone, iPad. Women were fine before 50 Shades of Grey and now there is a market for this stuff. Women are demanding it. It is the chicken and egg question sometimes.
